John Rutledge Postcard

John Rutledge Postcard
Information
Photo postcard written by John Rutledge, in Early, Iowa, to his cousin Paul Rutledge, in Des Moines, Iowa (care of Paul's father, W.A.).

Picture is John's father T. Scott Rutledge with an early motorcycle. The postcard is dated November 4, 1907, though the photo was likely taken sometime that summer or fall given that the trees have plenty of foliage.

I cannot immediately identify the make or model of the cycle, though it is easier to see in the original photograph that the brand on the tank says something like "Read--- Stan---" but very difficult to tell. The single cylinder leaning back appears somewhat unique amongst a quick Google search.

The text of the postcard is as follows:
"Early Ia Nov 4. 07
Dear Paul.
How are you.
I earned 25 cents
one Saturday hus-
-king corn.
John Rutledge"

Addressed (In adult handwriting)
"Mr Paul Rutledge
Des Moines
Iowa.
% W.A. Rutledge"

There is no postmark, so it is not clear as to whether the post card was ever sent in any way.
