First wife Octavia was born in Genesee Co., married in New York, died in Genesee Co. in 1813.
All children from both wives were born in New York. The fourth, Mary Lurvey, died in 1827 in Livingston County. The seventh, Ezra Lurvey, was born in 1815 in Avon. Joseph's brother-in-law Robert was also living there. Perhaps Mary is named for her aunt (Robert's wife).
Moved from New York to Ottawa, WI in 1843; purchased farm ground there from the US government for $0.25/ac.
The Town of Ottawa Cemetery was started as a family burial plot on the Lurvey farm.
Joseph has the oldest tombstone in the Town of Ottawa Cemetery, and was buried in 1851.
